From the BBC newsdesk:  Stroke gives woman foreign accent - A woman has recovered from a stroke only to find her distinctive Newcastle accent has changed to a Jamaican one.

I read the article and thought that this was surely a joke!  But it is not!  "Foreign Accent Syndrome" actually exists!  Read-up on this here and here.  Surely puts the "broken" in "Broken English" in perspective!
