The two excuses of unbelief
The two responses excuses of unbelief:
The other says: "No one's been there....or done that."
The first is typical of many who experienced renewal/revival as a passing thing - "Oh we had revival in our church some years ago....it was cute....in a Barney meets Winney the Pooh, lets-go-find-us-some-honey, sort of way.....but now we have moved on.....The second only looks at history, and defines current and future realities from past experiences. For them God is not a God of "Behold I will do a new thing".
- "It's been done before"
- "It's never been done before"
