In response to the four "
Christian vs. Christ Follower" series of videos that were featured here, a good friend sent in this beauty via email:
I was enjoying showing the Chrisitan vs Christ Follower videos to my brother in law, when the Lord started tugging on something in my heart. It's very cool to be a cool christian these days. I relate to this because I don't like ties, and I like rock music (amongst other genres). Plus I have a MAC. So, I decidedly cast my vote on the 'cool' side. But, I realized the thing I DON"T like about the 'Christian" is that they are narrow and judgmental. Yeah? This is the world's complaint about Christians, and justifiably so.
BUT, when I start comparing myself to him, and at the same time enjoying my 'coolness' ...... am I not singing the same song, just in a different key? The Christians say "thank God we are not like the world" and so I'm going to say "thank God I'm not like them"?
I think Jesus was tapping on this door when he talked about the Pharisees who would not repent at John's fasting nor His feasting. Their weakness was the inability to see the diamond due to their 5 tons of soil analysis (too acidic......no too basic.....lacks trace elements etc) I guess the real issue is HONOR. Wisdom, no matter its packaging or quantity, will be honored by the children! I think Bethel has hit on gold when they always lift honor as the tie that binds. I would like to hear your take [on this]........"
Man, sometimes the comments are better than the posts!
