Fear of deception has opened the door for a tragic movement among believers.  [....] This is the picture that many paint:  In one corner we have balanced looking people who value the Bible as the Word of God, and in the other we have emotionally unbalanced people who seek after esoteric, spiritual experiences with God.  Is that an accurate picture?  Jesus made a frightening statement regarding those who hold to Bible study Vs. experience:

"You search the scriptures, for in them you think you have life; and these are they which testify of Me." 

If our study of the Bible doesn't lead us to a deeper relationship (an encounter), with God, then it simply is adding to our tendency towards spiritual pride.

I was flicking channels the other day and landed on a really cheesy Mexican  soap-opera channel called “TL Novelas”  - where an 'experienced' actress was being interviewed.  For a split second - literally the time it would take me to click and surf on to a “man channel” (Sky News, CNN, National Geographic, History Channel, Discovery channel, etc)- I heard her mention 3 words that she said were critical for success in acting:

Passion....Patience....Discipline.

Those words struck me.  I think that those three words are vital for success in ANY field or endeavor!!!!!    That is what your destiny is waiting for – the alignment of your passion, patience, and discipline.  Many today are dreaming about success and making their dreams a reality, but they lack the combination, or alignment, of these three factors. How about you? What steps are YOU taking today to align these three elements, so crucial to your success?

Hi friends, just received this prayer request for Bill Johnson.  Please pray - thanks! ----------- Friends and family, This week we had a surprising health situation come up with my Dad, Bill Johnson of Bethel Church in Redding. So I am writing to give you an update and a target for prayer. Last week, Bob Jones called and was concerned about my dad's health. As a result of Bob's call, my dad went to the doctor to have some things checked on. He has had a hernia in the area of the abdomen that has caused some issues and discomfort. In checking out the hernia, the doctors felt a surgery was needed the next day to fix it and felt good about the recovery. In preparing for the surgery, they ran a routine blood test and had to cancel the surgery due to his being anemic. This set off another series of tests to determine what was going on. One of the tests involved checks for colon cancer, and it happened this morning. The results from this test show that his colon is in excellent health and he has no cancer. So, Yea GOD!! They are going to run some more tests to see why he is anemic. I had a dream last night and in the dream, my neighbor was standing by his barbeque and there were some pretty big flames coming out of it. I was concerned that the flames would start a fire on my property. So I went and talked to my neighbor, and he insisted that everything was fine. So I went back to my property, and the flames got bigger, and the wind started to blow the flames onto my property. Now I was really concerned, and I told him that he needed to do something about his barbeque, but he insisted that everything was OK. Then, out of nowhere, all these catholic nuns showed up on my property with rakes and shovels and they were making a fire line of protection around my property. Part of Bob Jones' warning was that the prayers of the church would be crucial to victory. So we are asking that you continue to pray for perfect health and life in my dad's body-that the hernia and anemia situations would quickly be healed and resolved. We are also asking that you pray from a position of strength and faith in the goodness of God for our family as a whole. Thank you. Dreaming with God: Secrets to redesigning your world through God's creative flow (Bill Johnson)

No longer do I call you servants, for a servant does not know what his master is doing; but I have called you friends, for all things that I heard from My Father I have made known to you. - John 15:15 Several paradigm shifts take place in our hearts as we embrace this promotion. First, what we know changes , as we gain access to the heart of the Father. His heart is the greatest resource of information we need to function successfully in all of life. Jesus paid the price of our access to the Father, thereby granting us the freedom that comes from the truth we gain through that unlimited knowledge of His heart. Liberty is found in this phase of the promotion. Second, our experience changes. Encounters with God as an intimate are quite different from those of a servant. His heartbeat becomes our heartbeat as we celebrate the shift in our own desires. The realm of His presence becomes our greatest inheritance, and divine encounters our greatest memories. Personal transformation is the only possible result from these supernatural experiences. Third, our function in life radically changes. Instead of working for Him, we work with Him. We work not for His favor but from His favor. In this position H entrusts us with more of His power, and we are naturally changed into His likeness more and more. Fourth, our identity is radically transformed. Our identity sets the tone for all we do and become. Christians who live out of who they are cannot be crippled by the opinions of others. They don't work to fit into other people's expectations, but burn with the realization of who the Father says they are.

The issue of working from favour rather than for favour is critical in the realization that you live in a Father-Son relationship rather than a Master-servant one. When I was young[er] I often helped out in my family's business. Being the son of the owner immediately gives you a differentperspective on things than even the most loyal of employees. "Ownership" of an estate, an inheritance or a legacy does change you from thinking in terms of performance to thinking in terms of stewardship. Because you are His friend (And because you are His son), the liberty to fully commune with Gods heart opens for us a realm of experience and encounter with God that transforms how we think and live. No longer do I work to earn my approval, I now work because God's unrelenting passion has pursued my affections to such a degree that it has transformed me into a burning one that will not rest until I awake in His likeness.
